The thesis covers the finding of physical and mechanical behaviors of coals, depending on stress states with a view to determining of limiting state zone parameters for flat coal seams.
As a result of experimental studies it was stated as follows: there are disagreements between stress and strain states μσ ≠ με for test coals; effect of stress states on physical and mechanical behaviors of coals; effect of fluids such as methane and water on physical and mechanical properties of coals; relationship of gas emission from coal with increase of rock mass temperature; variations of physical and mechanical behaviors of coals with increase of occurrence depth; the elaborated method of determining of limiting state zone.
