The purpose and main objectives of the research project:
The purpose: To obtain new knowledge about the components influence on the structurally dependent properties of fluoride-oxide slags and to improve their technological properties for electroslag remelting of alloys with titanium and aluminum.
Objective: Analysis of modern ideas about the components influence on the structurally dependent properties of fluoride-oxide slags (electrical conductivity, viscosity, oxygen activity, melting point, etc.) and development the effective slag for ESR alloys with aluminum and titanium. Experimental verification of manufacturability and efficiency of the developed slags at ESR.
Expected scientific or scientific and technical results of the research project:
• New knowledge on the main factors influencing the structure and physicochemical properties of fluoride-oxide slag melts of the CaF2- (Al2O3, TiO2, MgO) system.
• Deepening the understanding of the role of oxygen in the structure slag melt and the manifestation of its influence on the slag physicochemical properties and the slag interaction with the metal.
• New slag compositions for electroslag remelting of alloys with titanium and aluminum.
• Improving the efficiency of electroslag remelting of metal with particularly high quality under different conditions of its production process organization.
