Summary:Монографія присвячена одному з найвизначніших відкриттів останніх десятиліть у спадщині релігійної мистецької культури українських земель — віднайденій 2000 р. коні Богородиці з Емануїлом із собору Різдва Богородиці в Холмі (Луцьк, Волинський краєзнавчий музей — Музей волинської ікони]. Вона ідентифікована як унікальна пам’ятка константинопольського аристократичного малярства зламу XII—XIII ст. Пропонується докладний аналіз Холмської ікони в контексті еволюції візантійської богородичної іконографії у зіставленні з широким колом зразків релігійної мистецької культури Візантії та візантизуючого малярства Італії. Ікона трактується унікальним свідченням виняткового в національній історії холмського середовища середини XIII ст. — часів короля Данила Романовича (1201—1264], рідкісним прикладом українсько-візантійських мистецьких зв'язків княжої доби та поширення візантійського мистецтва на теренах Центрально-Східної Європи.

Summary:The monograph is devoted to one of the most prominent discoveries of the last decades in the legacy of Ukrainian religious art — the icon of the Virgin Mary with Emanuel from the Cathedral of the Birth of the Virgin Mary in Chołm (Lutsk, Volyn Local His Museum — Volyn Icon Museum), which was found in 2000. It is identified as a unique monument of Constantinople aristocratic painting of late 12th — early 13th centuries. The monograph gives a detailed analysis of the Chołm icon in the context of the evolution of Byzantine iconography of the Theotokos in comparison with a wide range of religious art samples of the Byzantine Empire and Bizantine painting of Italy. The icon is considered to be a unique testimony of the era of King Danylo Romanovych (1201—1264), which is exceptional in the national history of the mid-13th century Chołm environment, and a rare example of the Ukrainian-Byzantine artistic ties of the this epoch and the spread of Byzantine art in Central and Eastern Europe
